A stylish smartphone with Sony Mobile tag, supposedly of the upcoming Xperia MT27i ‘Pepper’, has been spotted on a Chinese forum . However, no information was mentioned there about the releasing dates of the handset.
Sony Mobile, which has demonstrated the Smart Tags at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 in Las Vegas, is actively pushing to bring out its first generation of smartphones with NFC chip built-in. In this regard, the company introduced Xperia P smartphone as the part of its Xperia NXT smartphone family. The Xperia MT27i Pepper will also support the Sony Mobile NFC Smart Tags.
The upcoming Xperia smartphone with MT27i model number and codenamed ‘Pepper’ will have similar design as Xperia NXT phones along with a unibody aluminum body. The Pepper smartphone will have 3.7-inch touchscreen display with 480×854 pixel resolution.
This handset will house a dual-core 1 GHz ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 mobile Processor with 512 MB RAM. For the imaging enthusiasts, it will feature a 5 Megapixel camera at the back.
Obviously this smartphone will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich pre-loaded. More new Xperia smartphones can be expected at the CTIA-Wireless 2012 convention scheduled on May 8-10 this year.
