Samsung has unveiled its new Android-powered Clamshell smartphone in China, which is named as Samsung W2018. As of now, there is no information on its pricing and availability. However, it is expected to come with hefty price tag of around CNY 15,999, which is approximately Rs 1,56,200. The Samsung W2018 comes in Platinum and Elegant Gold colours and will go on sale mainly from China Telecom. The W2018 is the 10th-anniversary edition of W-lineup smartphones.
Samsung W2018 has a metal unibody design and features a 4.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED internal and external display. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU, which is paired with 6GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 64GB/256GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI layer over it. It is backed up by a smaller 2,300mAh battery. The flip phone also comes with Samsung’s AI-assistant Bixby with added support for the Chinese language.
On its camera front, Samsung W2018 flip phone has a 12-megapixel primary shooter with LED flash, f/1.5 aperture, PDAF, 1.4μm pixels, optical image stabilization. On its front, it has 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.9 Aperture for selfies. The smartphone also houses a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner next to the camera and has an Always On Display feature. Besides, it has connectivity features like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2X2 MIMO), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS + GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C. The handset measures 132.2 x 63.2 x 15.95mm and weighs 247 grams.
