Samsung has announced its foldable smartphone - Samsung W20 in China. The new phone is the 5G version of the Galaxy Fold smartphone with some key differences. The pricing of the Samsung W20 5G has not been announced but confirmed that it will be available for purchase in December.
Samsung W20 is powered by an octa-core processor with a clock speed of 2.96 GHz, which means that it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor. To recall, the original Galaxy Fold is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. Furthermore, the listing reveals that the Samsung W20 5G foldable smartphone will be backed by a 4,235mAh battery, which is different from the 4380mAh battery of Galaxy Fold 4G. The new foldable smartphone is backed by a 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.
Samsung W20 5G is backed by a 7.3-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED primary display with a screen resolution of 1536x2152 pixels resolution along with a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED cover display with 1960 x 840 pixels. The phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie with company’s OneUI running on top of it.
For the camera, the phone is equipped with a triple camera module at the back of the phone with a combination of a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, with Dual Pixel AF, OIS, and variable f/1.5 to f/2.4 aperture; and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with PDAF, OIS, an f/2.4 aperture, and 2X optical zoom. For the front, there is a dual camera with a combination of a 10-megapixel f/2.2 primary sensor and an 8-megapixel RBG depth camera with an f/1.9 aperture. Finally, the cover camera is a 10-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
Samsung W20 5G features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The dimensions are 160.9×117.9×6.9/15.7-17.1mm and the weight is 276 grams. The connectivity options are 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5, GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC. Additionally, the phone features AKG-tuned speakers, glass-sandwich design, Dolby Atmos, Samsung DeX.
