Previously, the South Korean giant has released the Galaxy J7 2015 edition last year and a Galaxy J7 2016 edition this year in May. The smartphone is believed to be first available to the local market in Vietnam and hopefully than spread out globally.

Regarding the improvements, the J7 Prime is expected to come with 3GB compared to 2GB in J7 2016 and 1.5GB in J7 2015. Also, it might come with 2.5D curved glass panel at the front. The selfie camera will also see a bump to 8 from 5 MP in previous editions. Interestingly, the new J7 Prime is alleged to have a slightly different home button with a finger print scanner embedded in it. Apart from this, the speaker grill might be shifted to sides compared to current variants of J7 which have back facing speakers.

Other than that, rest of the specifications are touted to be similar such as a 5.5 inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 615 or Exynos 7870 clocked at 1.6 GHz speed. It will also sport the same 3300 battery. Regarding the price, the original J7 was launched at Rs 14,999 and this year’s J7 was launched at Rs 15,990. It is expected that the J7 will be priced aggressively and will be somewhere around the same price mark. With 3GB RAM and a finger print scanner, Samsung is really taking the competition seriously from competitors like Huawei and Motorola.

Samsung is also working on next versions of the Galaxy Grand Prime, Galaxy On5 and Galaxy On7 smartphones as well and rumours about all of them have been popping up recently giving us a fair idea about the internals as well externals.
