Samsung officially launches Galaxy SIII in India for Rs 43,180

This high end smartphone comes with some unique features that are exclusive to this handset.

Samsung has officially launched its high profile Galaxy SIII smartphone in India today. Priced at Rs 43,180, this smartphone comes with high end features like 1.4 GHz quad core processor, 4.8 inch touchscreen, and ICS operating system, besides some unique features that are exclusive to this handset.

Moreover, Vodafone is offering 3 of data for free with the Galaxy SIII. However, the offer is valid till only 31st August of this year.

The Samsung Galaxy SIII has a 4.8-inch, 1280 x 720 pixel resolution HD Super that has PenTile pixel arrangement (two subpixels per pixel) and has about 306 pixels per inch pixel density. By default, this display supports 1280×720 pixel resolution and is hailed as the best display ever to feature on a smartphone.

The Galaxy S III comes with a quad-core 1.4 GHz Exynos 4 mobile running Android Ice Cream Sandwich as its operating system and the new TouchWiz user interface integrated on top of it. The new version of TouchWiz is being dubbed as Nature UX (user experience).

For imaging, Samsung Galaxy SIII bears an 8 camera with auto focus and LED flash at the back. It can record full 1080p HD videos at 30 frames per second. At the front lies a 1.9 megapixel camera that is capable of 720p HD videos for video chats. Samsung has included a new 4.0 (LE) module along with totally new feature called S Beam which offers blistering fast transfer speeds allowing users to share a 1 GB movie file in less than three minutes.

The Galaxy S III will feature a 2100 mAh battery which is a very welcome feature as most of the current high-end smartphones come with 1700 mAh to 1800 mAh batteries. The Galaxy SIII has 16 GB of but it can be expanded to 32 GB through a micro card.

Interestingly, Buytheprice (an online retailer) is selling the Galaxy SIII for just Rs 38,290 and is promising to ship it by 5th June. You can see details here.
