Samsung has reportedly lined up two new phablets, namely Galaxy Note EDGE and Galaxy Grand 3. The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is all set to be launched this November 14 in the US while Grand 3’s specification has been leaked and widely reported. Note that Samsung has already launched the Note Edge in South Korea and Japan and has confirmed to launch the phone in the Indian market by the end of this year.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge features a 2.7 GHz quad core Processor and a 5.6 inch Super AMOLED Display with Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution. It is based on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and has 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage and an expandable storage slot that can accommodate a 128 GB micro SD card.
The Note Edge has a 16 Megapixel auto focus rear camera with optical image stabilisation feature and a 3.7 megapixel front camera. This 174 gram heavy phablet is just 8.3 mm thick and has a 3000 mAh Li-Ion battery. Like other high end Samsung smartphones, it too comes with Fast charging facility. Connectivity wise too it is quite rich with Bluetooth 4.1, IR LED, dual Band WiFi, NFC, GPS with GLONASS and GPS, and USB 2.0 port that would also act as MHL port.
Samsung Galaxy Grand 3
Meanwhile, a new Samsung phablet with model number SM-G7200 has been spotted on GFXbench results. This device is now speculated to be the next in the Grand series, purportedly called as Samsung Galaxy Grand 3.
As per the leaked data, the Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 has a 5.5 inch display (slightly bigger than Grand 2’s 5.25 inch screen) but it will have 720p resolution as its predecessor.
The Grand 3 is said to be powered by a 64 bit quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which will have clock speed of 1.2 GHz. This CPU will be backed by Adreno 306 GPU and 1.5 GB RAM. Besides, the Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 is said to have 16 GB internal storage, Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system, 12 megapixel rear camera, and 5 megapixel front camera.
The so called Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 is expected to be released January next year and could be priced around Rs 25,000.
