Samsung has unveiled its next-generation rugged smartphones known as Galaxy XCover FieldPro. The latest rugged smartphone comes loaded with a host of interesting features.

The latest smartphone from Samsung comes with a rugged design and it is MIL-STD-810G certified, meaning that it can survive drops, shocks, vibrations, extreme temperatures, rain and blowing dust. It is also certified, meaning that it is waterproof and can be submerged to five-foot water up to half an hour.

The smartphone comes with dedicated physical push-to-talk and emergency request buttons that are programmable to send location data or alerts. It can be also activated in adverse weather conditions or wearing gloves. The device also features the Samsung Knox security platform which is CJIS, HIPAA and FIPS compliant. It features an ergonomic rear fingerprint scanner.

Coming to the specifications, it comes with 5.1-inch QHD display with a screen of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the latest Exynos 9810 octa-core clocked at 2.7GHz. It is backed by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 512GB via card slot.

On the camera front, the Galaxy XCover FieldPro is loaded with a 12-megapixel rear camera with triple flash along with an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. It runs on Oreo, though it can be upgraded to Android 10. It is backed by a 4,500mAh battery and it comes with a POGO pin charging solution. On the connectivity front, it supports 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, GPS, GLONASS, 5.0, NFC, WiFi and POGO Pin. The phone measures 158.5 x 80.7 x 14.2mm and weighs 256 grams.
