There has been a lot of confusion about the Android Oreo update of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. The phones were earlier reported to get the latest update in April, but that as changed to May 18. However, it seems that both the flagship devices might get the Oreo update by mid-May.
As a per notice posted on its Members App (via Sammobile) aimed at Korean users, Samsung confirms that it will release Android Oreo update to the Galaxy S7 duo. After the Oreo update, the smartphones will have picture-in-picture mode that lets users to two tasks simultaneously.
The brand has also confirmed that it is ‘doing its best’ to roll out the latest update for both the smartphones. This is not. The company confirms that it is planning to roll out Oreo update for Galaxy A5 (2017), Galaxy A7 (2017) as well as the WiFi and LTE variants of the Galaxy Tab S3.
However, it is important to note few things here. Firstly, the update is only meant for the Korean market and there is no information whether the update will be rolled out for the other regions with the same time period or not.
