Samsung Galaxy S10-series launched, price starts at around Rs 53,300

All three Galaxy S10-Series phones will go on sale on March 8 in the US and will be available for pre-order from today. The price of the Galaxy S10 5G variant has not been revealed but it will become available via Verizon in the US before later this year.

After numerous leaks, Samsung has finally launched Galaxy S10-series at an event in San Francisco on Wednesday, ahead of MWC 2019.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 price starts from $899.99 ( Rs 63,900), and Samsung Galaxy S10+ price starts from $999.99 (Rs 71,000). As far as Galaxy S10e is concerned price starts from $749.99 (Rs 53,300).

All three Galaxy S10-Series phones will go on sale on March 8 in the US and will be available for pre-order from today. The price of the Galaxy S10 variant has not been revealed, but it will become available via Verizon in the US later this year.

If we look at the specification of the devices, everything that was rumoured came out right -hole-punch, details, Dynamic AMOLED displays with HDR10+ certification, Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor (except Samsung Galaxy S10e which sports a capacitive fingerprint sensor on the home button) and Wireless PowerShare.

Samsung Galaxy S10-Series also features Vapor Chamber cooling (on the Galaxy S10+), also IP68-certification for dust and water resistance 802.11ax support and Dolby Atmos for Gaming. All three S series smartphones will be available in variants, depending on the region.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G variant was also launched at the event, and it has a 6.7-inches Infinity-O Display, a 3D depth camera, 8GB of RAM, single SIM slot and a 4,500mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy S10 specifications

  1. OS: It runs on 9.0 Pie, with the company’s One customisation on top.
  2. Display: 6.1-inch QHD+ Curved Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a 550ppi density.
  3. Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (2.8GHz+2.4GHz+1.7GHz) in some regions, and the 8nm octa-core Samsung Exynos 9820 SoC (2.7GHz+2.3GHz+1.9GHz) in other areas.
  4. 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM.
  5. Camera: Triple rear camera set up with a combination of a 12 MP- sensor, a 12-megapixel lens telephoto and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens camera. The setup also provides up to 10x digital zoom. A 10-megapixel sensor in the front.
  6. Internal memory: 128GB and 512GB – both of which are expandable via microSD.
  7. 4,100mAh battery.
  8. Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.

  1. OS: It runs on Android 9.0 Pie, with the company’s One UI customisation on top.
  2. Display: 6.4-inch QHD+ Curved Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display
  3. Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC (2.8GHz+2.4GHz+1.7GHz) in some regions, and the 8nm octa-core Samsung Exynos 9820 SoC (2.7GHz+2.3GHz+1.9GHz) in other regions.
  4. RAM: 8GB of LPDDR4x and 12GB LPDDR4x RAM
  5. Camera: Triple rear camera setup. Combination- a 12 MP- wide-angle sensor, a 12-megapixel lens telephoto and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens camera. The setup also provides up to 10x digital zoom. A 10-megapixel sensor + 8MP dual camera setup in the front.
  6. Internal memory: 128GB, 512GB, and 1TB – all three of which are expandable via card

  3. Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC (2.8GHz+2.4GHz+1.7GHz) in some regions, and the 8nm octa-core Samsung Exynos 9820 SoC (2.7GHz+2.3GHz+1.9GHz).
  4. RAM: 6GB and 8GB
  5. Dual rear camera setup – 12-megapixel wide-angle lens+ 16-megapixel fixed focus camera with a 123-degree ultra-wide lens. The setup is capable of providing 0.5x optical zoom, and up to 8x digital zoom. A 10-megapixel sensor in the front.
  6. Internal memory – 128GB and 512GB – both of which are expandable via microSD card
  7. Capacitive fingerprint sensor on the home button.
