Samsung Galaxy M40 to be priced around Rs 20,000 in India

The Samsung Galaxy M40 will be the fourth device in the M-series after Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30.

Samsung will be launching Galaxy M40 in India on June 11. Now the phone will reportedly be priced in India at around Rs 20,000.

Asim Warsi, Senior Vice President, Mobile Business in conversation with Gadget 360 has revealed them that M40 will come around Rs 20,000 price point. He said “If you look at the M10, M20, and M30, they’re stacked between Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 18,000 price points,” said Warsi. “[But] M40 will come around the give or take Rs. 20,000 price point — somewhere there.”

Notably, the price is lower than what was earlier reported by news agency IANS some time back. They reported that Galaxy M40 will be launched in India for nearly Rs 25,000. The Samsung Galaxy M40 will be the fourth device in the M-series after Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30.

Warsi while talking with Gadgets 360 also revealed that apart from the Infinity-O Display, the Galaxy M40 will feature a triple rear camera setup along with a 32-megapixel primary sensor. The smartphone is also Samsung’s first model to have a “Screen Sound” technology. He also revealed that Samsung Galaxy M-series has crossed 2 million sales worldwide since its launch in January.

The Galaxy M40 has now also been listed officially on the company’s India website with Notify Me option. A video teaser has been posted on Samsung Mobile India’s Twitter handle revealing hole-punch camera design, what Samsung calls its Infinity-O Display.

An earlier report revealed that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and it will feature a triple camera system. It will sport an Infinity-O Display panel which means the phone will be having a punch-hole in the display to house the front camera. The Samsung Galaxy M40 will be sold in India via Amazon and the Samsung Online Store after its launch next month.

A tweet from Ishan Agarwal recently revealed that the Galaxy M40 will not have an earpiece, rather the sound would come from the display. The phone will also ditch the 3.5mm jack, which means that it will come with a to 3.5mm adapter. It will be launched in Black, Blue, and Orange colours. Reportedly, the Galaxy M40 will be launched in India alongside the Galaxy A10s.
