Samsung has filed a trademark for a new smartphone in the United States which goes by the name Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro with United States Patent and Trademark Office. It means that the Galaxy J7 Sky Pro might be launched in the US soon. However, the phone could go with a different name in other markets.

The serial number for this trademark is 87312364 and the trademark was filed on the 24th of January. The current status of trademark says, ” New application will be assigned to an examining attorney approximately 3 months after filing date”. The trademark filing also mentions that it is a trademark for a mobile device.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro has never leaked until now, but as per reports, the smartphone is the US variant of the Galaxy J7 (2017) which has been in leaks from quite a longtime now. It is still not known why Samsung is using the Sky Pro term in the name of the device. May be the Sky hints at the blue colour option while the Pro hints at a powerful version of the smartphone.

Meanwhile, rumors and leaks revealing the specs of Galaxy J7 (2017) have been already doing round on the web. Going by the leaks, the Galaxy J7 (2017) is rumored to feature a 5.5-inch with 1280X720 pixel resolution. It is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 625/Samsung Exynos 7870 processor coulped with 3GB/2GB RAM. It is also tipped to come with a decent 13 megapixel rear camera and 8 or 5 megapixel front camera. It will run on Android 7.0 Nougat and will be backed by a 3,000 battery.
