Samsung has been enjoying the taste of success with the 5-inch display bearing Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note II. The company is working on yet another 5-inch smartphone-tablet hybrid device dubbed as Galaxy Grand. This smartphone will support lower resolution and is likely to be one of the affordable large screen bearing smartphones. The filing report spotted by Tech Kiddy at the Federal Communications Commission had few details about this handset.
As per the report, this Samsung Galaxy Brand will house a quad-core Samsung Exynos 4412 mobile processor and will run Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update. The specifications hint yet another Galaxy Note variant but this phone has a 2100 mAh battery. Another surprising fact reported was 5-inch display bearing 800×480 pixel resolution which makes absolutely no sense at all in the configuration.
The Galaxy Grand will also support LTE network along with 3G Networks. It will offer support for WiFi and Near Field Communication. Firstly, yet another 5-inch device with quad-core does not stop to surprise us and to top it off, this device will have a WVGA display. Based on the configuration, it is difficult to determine if this smartphone will be an affordable one or yet another midrange device with flagship features.
This smartphone is codenamed as Baffin and most likely would be launched for the emerging markets. India has seen the fad of 5-inch display bearing smartphones go popular if priced correctly. As of now, there are no details on whether the specifications are accurate or the pricing.
