Samsung has started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Samsung Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ smartphones with Samsung Experience 9.5 built on top of it. The update seems to have begun rolling out across Russia.

SamMobile reports via Galaxy Club that Samsung has released an Over-The-Air(OTA) update for Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ users. The new update carries build number A730FXXU2BRG1 for the A8+ and A530FXXU2BRG1 for the A8. The update also brings the July Android security patch level. The report also mentions that update has also begun rolling out throughout Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine as well.

Since the update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it comes to your device and will reach all the users in coming weeks. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update. Before starting the update, your device should be at least 50% charged with a stable Wi-Fi network.

The update will bring support for Dolby Atmos as part of Android 8.0 Oreo. It is also likely that the update will redesign the Camera app. This is the same camera UI that is available on the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. After the update, the smartphones will have all the goodies of Android  Oreo with Samsung Experience 9.5. Users will get picture-in-picture mode that lets users to two tasks simultaneously. So, for example, one can minimize a YouTube video while sending a text message or writing an email. Android Oreo has other features like including Background limits, installation of apps via APK, over 60 new emojis, notification dots, Wide-gamut colour for apps, Snoozing individual notification, Adaptive icons, Keyboard navigation, WebView enhancements and much more.
