Reliance Jio introduced its next-generation feature, the JioPhone 2, will go on sale today in India. To recall, the feature phone was introduced during Reliance Jio Annual General Meeting (AGM) in July this year.
The company at that time revealed that the booking of the phone would start on August 15, 2018. Jio has now announced that the phone will go on sale today i.e. July 16, 2018. However, this time the company has opted for a flash sale model for its feature phone, which will begin at 12:00 PM. Interested users can log on to the company’s official website to buy the JioPhone 2. The feature phone is priced at Rs 2,999.
Recollecting some key specs, the JioPhone 2 comes loaded with a physical QWERTY keypad, against the T9 keypad used in first generation JioPhone. The device runs on KAI OS, which is present in JioPhone and there is a voice assistant as well through which users can make calls, browse the web, listen to music and more. As usual, the phone is equipped with a host of Jio apps and it also supports Facebook, WhatsApp and YouTube.

The device features a 2.4-inch QVGA display, which bears a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Under the hood, there is a 1.2GHz dual-core Processor coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expanded up to 128GB via micro SD card slot.
For optics, Jio has added a 2MP rear and 0.3MP front-facing cameras on the latest feature phone. On the battery front, JioPhone 2 is juiced up by a 2000mAh battery, which the brand claims can deliver up to 12 hours of Talk time and 15 days of standby time. Connectivity options include dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC, Micro USB 2.0 and FM radio.
