Xiaomi’s sub brand, Redmi has today announced the launch date of much awaited Redmi flagship smartphone, Redmi K20. The company has announced through its official Weibo account that the Redmi K20 will be released on May 28 In China at 14:00 PM.
Few days back, Xiaomi India MD, Manu Kumar Jain, hinted through its Twitter post, that the company is all set to launch Redmi K20 flagship smartphone bearing Snapdragon 855 SoC in India soon. However, as of now no details has been revealed on India launch date. Recently, CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, had posted some images of upcoming Redmi K20 retail box, official case, and merchandise. Moreover, Redmi President Lu Weibing, had recently claimed that the Redmi K20 has achieved the score as high as 458,754 in AnTuTu.
Week back, we exclusively reported that the flagship Redmi K20 was found listed on one of the Chinese retailer, revealing its key specifications. The Redmi K20 Pro smartphone was also spotted on the website, but there are no specifications listed against it.
As per the listing, the Redmi K20 would have a 6.15 inches Full HD+(2280×1080 pixels) display and will be armed by a latest octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. Listing revealed that the smartphone will have 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage.
For the optics, the Redmi K20 flagship device will house a triple rear camera setup with a combination of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 13-megapixel secondary sensor and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, the smartphone will sport a 20-megapixels selfie snapper.
Further, the listing doesn’t reveal he battery capacity and Android version. However, the company’s top management already hinted towards Android Q beta version. Moreover, Redmi K20 would also have a USB Type C port and will support fast charging. Other connectivity options include VoLTE, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, and Dual nano SIM with dual standby.
As per earlier reports, the Redmi K20 smartphone is said to be backed up by a 4000mAh battery with 27W fast charging. Further, the smartphone might to have an in-display fingerprint sensor, ultra Wide-Angle lens, pop-selfie camera and will retain 3.5mm Audio Jack with supports of NFC as well.
