Redmi 7A was announced in China last month. Now after its China launch, the Xiaomi Redmi 7A has been confirmed to launch in India soon.
Xiaomi India chief Manu Kumar Jain today made the announcement about the upcoming launch on his twitter handle. However his tweet does not reveal an exact launch date of the Redmi 7A in India.
As per his tweet, Xiaomi has sold 23.6 million units of the Redmi 4A, Redmi 5A, and Redmi 6A smartphones till April this year. He is touting Redmi 7A as Desh ka Smartphone.

Redmi 7A features a 5.45-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display 1440 x 720 pixels screen resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by 2.0GHz octa-core (Quad 1.95GHz Cortex A53 + Quad 1.45GHz Cortex A53) Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC with Adreno 505 GPU. The phone comes in two variants in China – 2GB RAM with 16 GB internal storage at CNY 549 (roughly Rs. 5,500) and 2GB RAM with 32GB internal storage priced at CNY 599 (roughly Rs. 6,000). Both the variants come with an option of expanding the storage upto 256GB via microSD card.
For the optics, Redmi 7A sports a single 13MP AI rear camera along with LED flash, PDAF phase focus, AI beauty and on the front, it has a 5MP AI selfie shooter. Camera features include AI Beauty camera, AI Background Blur with AI Face Unlock support. The phone measures 146.30×70.41×9.55mm and weighs150 grams.
