Realme has rolled out new software updates to its Realme 5 and Realme 2 Pro smartphones in India. The update brings October Android security patch to Realme 5 while the Realme 2 Pro has received November Android security patch.
According to the changelog posted on the Realme website, the latest software update for the Realme 5 brings firmware version RMX1911EX_11_A.18, whereas the 2 Pro update brings version number RMS1801EX_11_C.25.
The company has said in the post that the update is initially a staged rollout. The OTA will be randomly pushed out to a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. If no critical bugs are found, the full roll out will be completed in the upcoming days.
Talking of the update of Realme 5 first, it brings adds Wide-Angle video shooting feature, improves the brightness of rear main camera, optimizes low light scene shooting of rear portrait mode, improves preview clarity of rear camera, optimizes the issue of noise on the face with front and rear camera. It also updates font change supporting in Theme Store, adds realme Laboratory, Dark mode and a switch of notification dot for updates.
Further the Realme 5 update removes the reminder after the hotspot enabled, adds fast switch toggles between SIM in notification center, swipe left or right to remove the message prompt while receiving, adds a switch of swipe down on home screen for global search or notification center and fixes low probability issue of battery cannot be fully charged.
The Realme 2 Pro update adds realme Laboratory, Dark mode and data switch in notification pannel. It brings App cloner support more third-party applications and adds a switch of notification dot for updates. It now also allows Swipe left or right to remove the message prompt after receiving the message. Further, the update redesigns the notification center style
The Realme 5 is priced at Rs 9999 for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version, 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version costs Rs 10,999 and the 4GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs Rs 11,999. It comes in Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple colours.
The Realme 2 Pro comes in three variants – Rs 8,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant, Rs 10,999 for 6GB + 64GB option and Rs 12,999 for 8GB + 128GB model. It comes in Ice Lake, Black Sea and Blue Ocean colours.
