It seems that Google Pixel devices have encountered yet another bug and this time it is related to text messages. Multiple users have reported that they are not able to receive text messages after the official Android Oreo update.
The issue was publicly highlighted by a subscriber Gary Gregg, on the Google’s Pixel Community Forums and said that he is not able to receive any text on his Pixel XL which is running Android Oreo 8.0. The user even tried to fix the issue by uninstalling all the installed apps and disabling Messaging apps, including Google Message and Verizon+, but still, the problem was not solved.

Later on Orrin Hancock, Community Manager, Google said “The team is aware of this issue and working towards a fix. Some of you have mentioned that rebooting or factory resetting the device resolved the issue. Definitely, try to reboot, and if you do a factory reset, make sure all your data/info is backed up”
Google officially unveiled its latest Android 8.0 Oreo on August 21 during the solar eclipse in the US. And later, Google has started rolling out the Beta Android 8.0 Oreo for the Nexus and Pixel devices.
The company has included most of the features, which it revealed during its annual developer conference. To start with, there is a picture-in-picture mode that lets users to two tasks simultaneously. So, for example, one can minimise a YouTube video while sending a text message or writing an email.
