Philips has launched its new smartphone in Russia named as Philips Xenium X588. The price of the Xenium X588 has not been revealed yet, but it is expected to be a lower mid-range device. We are not sure if the device will make it to the Indian market.
The Philips Xenium X588 has a glass metal unibody design and features a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display. The power/lock, volume up and volume down keys are placed on the right-hand side of this smartphone. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 64-bit octa-core processor, paired with Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage capacity, with and option to expand the storage up to 128GB via MicroSD card. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and is backed up by a huge 5000 mAh non-removable battery.
On the camera front, the Xenium X588 has 13-megapixel Autofocus primary camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video chats. It also houses a fingerprint scanner on its back. Besides, the smartphone offers Dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS/GLONASS and Micro USB support. The handset measures 144.2 x 71.9x 9.3 mm and weighs 168 g.
Last year, Philips had launched the Xenium X818 smartphone in Russia priced at 23,990 Russian Rubles (Russia Currency), which is approximately Rs 25,628. The Xenium X818 comes in Champagne colour option.
