Panasonic Eluga I2 Activ with 5MP selfie camera, Android 7.0 Nougat launched in India

It will be available in three colour variants namely Gold, Rose Gold and Grey.

Panasonic has today announced the launch of its latest selfie-centric budget smartphone known as Eluga I2 Activ. The 2GB variant is priced at Rs 7,990, while the 1GB RAM version comes with a price tag of Rs 7,190 and it will be available in three colour variants namely Gold, Rose Gold and Grey.

The smartphone comes with a 5-inch display with a screen of 1280 x 720 pixels and it is powered by a 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor. The phone comes with 1GB/2GB of RAM and is backed by a 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via micro card slot.

On the camera front, the device sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with and LED flash, while for the front, there is a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. The phone is backed by a 2200mAh battery and runs on 7.0 Nougat. On the connectivity front, it supports VoLTE, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, 4.0, GPS, FM radio, and 2.0 port.

Commenting on the launch, Pankaj Rana, Business Head – Mobility Division, Panasonic India, said, “With the launch of ELUGA I2 Activ, we aim to target users who wish to own stylish and selfie camera-specific smartphones. This smartphone comes with 5.0” HD display which can be easily carried in your pocket and used on-the-go. Consumers nowadays prefer using their smartphones as an everyday pocket camera. A recent research by Counterpoints Research stated that nearly 33% of users prioritize a better selfie camera or fingerprint sensor for their next smartphone purchase.”
