Oppo has finally launched its new selfie-focused F series – the F5 smartphone in India today at an event in Mumbai.The Oppo F5 comes with 4GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage priced at Rs 19,990 and Rs 24,990 respectively. The Oppo F5 will be available via online on Flipkart and on offline channels also. The 4GB RAM variant will be available in Gold and Black colours and will go on sale from November 9 while the 6GB RAM variantwill be available in Red and Black colours, and it will be available for sale sometime in December. At the launch, the company has also announced that there will be also an Oppo F5 Youth edition, which will also be available in December.
The main highlight of the device is the front-facing 20-megapixel camera with 1/2.8 inch sensor, Aperture f/2.0. The selfie camera comes with AI technology which promises clear and beautiful selfies and can be used to unlock the device using facial recognition. As per the company, it offers bokeh effect and can scan 200 facial recognition spots to beautify a selfie shot perfectly. As for the rear camera, the device has 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f/1.8 aperture.
As for the rest of the specifications are concerned, the smartphone sports a 6-inch Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and Corning Glass 5 protection and a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The device is powered by 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 16nm processor with 800MHz ARM Mali G71 MP2 GPU. The phone is backed by a 4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card slot. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the back panel just below the camera. It comes with O-share – a wireless transfer technology that promises 100 times faster transfers compared to Bluetooth.
The device runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with company’s ColorUI 3.2 running on top of it. The smartphone gets its power from a 3,200mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the device support dual sim, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS + GLONASS. The phone measures 156.5 x 76 x 7.5mm and weighs about 152 grams.
