Oppo F5 launched with 20MP Selfie Camera and 6 inch full HD+ Display

The selfie camera comes with AI technology which promises clear and beautiful selfies and can be used to unlock the device using facial recognition.

Oppo has finally launched its much-hyped selfie-centric smartphone – Oppo F5 at an event in the Philippines. The Oppo F5 comes with 4GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. The device is priced at 15990 Philippine Peso which is approximately Rs 19,985 for 4GB RAM version and it will be available for pre-order in the Philippines from today. Oppo F5 will go on sale next week from November 4th in the Philippines.

Oppo has already announced to launch the smartphone on 2nd November in India. It will also be available in Russia and the Southeast Asian markets of Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam in November. The 4GB RAM version will come in gold and black while the 6GB RAM model will come in red. The company will announce the F5 6GB variant and the F5 Youth later. The Oppo F5 Youth Edition will come with lower RAM and internal storage capacity.

The main highlight of the device is the front-facing 20-megapixel camera with 1/2.8 inch sensor, f/2.0. The selfie camera comes with technology which promises clear and beautiful selfies and can be used to unlock the device using facial recognition. As per the company, it offers bokeh effect and can scan 200 facial recognition spots to beautify a selfie shot perfectly. As for the rear camera, the device has 16-megapixel rear camera with flash and f/1.8 aperture.

As for the rest of the specifications are concerned, the smartphone sports a 6-inch Full display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and Corning Glass 5 protection and a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The device is powered by 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 16nm processor with 800MHz ARM Mali G71 MP2 GPU. The phone is backed by a 4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB via card slot. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the back panel just below the camera. It comes with O-share – a wireless transfer technology that promises 100 times faster transfers compared to Bluetooth.

The device runs on 7.1 Nougat with company’s ColorUI 3.2 running on top of it. The smartphone gets its power from a 3,200mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the device support dual sim, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 4.2 and + GLONASS. The phone measures 156.5 x 76 x 7.5mm and weighs about 152 grams.
