Oppo has announced that it will launch a selfie-focussed smartpone called F1s on August 3. Since, it was announced on Oppo India Twitter page as well, we are expecting the device to be launched in India as well.
As per Oppo, the F1s will “carry on the legacy of F1’s legacy of super photography, sleek design and snappy performance” as well as it will be coming with “new features’. However, Oppo has not revealed any details about its features yet.
So far Oppo has released Oppo F1 and F1 Plus smartphones under its “F” range that are launched as selfie smartphones. The F1 was launched in January this year and the F1 Plus was launched in the Indian market in April.
Oppo F1- the first smartphone under Oppo’s F series – boasts an 8 megapixel front camera. The Oppo F1 comes with a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash, whereas the front 8-megapixel camera has f/2.0 aperture. The camera features include Beautify 3.0, 8 live colour filters, and the smartphone’s screen can also be used as a flash in low-light conditions to enhance the picture quality.
This dual SIM smartphone has an aluminium unibody design with a thickness of just 7.25mm. The smartphone features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 protection and is powered with an 1.7GHz octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor along with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. The Oppo F1 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with Color 2.1 on top of it and get the power from 2,500 mAh battery.
The handset comes with 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable by up-to 128GB via a micro SD card. For connectivity, it offers 4G, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and a micro USB port.
The highlight of Oppo F1 Plus is its front camera – a 16-megapixel selfie shooter that comes with 78.1-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture and PDAF. Strangely, its rear camera is of 13-megapixel resolution that has f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash.

As far as other specifications are concerned, the F1 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) AMOLED display. It has a MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up-to 128GB via a micro SD card, and Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system on top which lies the ColorOS 3.0 user interface.
The Oppo F1 Plus is powered by a 2850 mAh battery, which come with Super VOOC rapid charging technology that claims to fully charge the phone in just 15 minutes. Besides, the smartphone offers 4G, Fingerprint scanner and Mali-T860 GPU.
