OnePlus has announced the latest Android Marshmallow update for its OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 smartphones.
“For the OnePlus One, Cyanogen OS will be updating to Marshmallow in the first quarter of 2016..The OnePlus 2 will also be updated in Q1,” the company announced in a blog post.
It further added, ‘”We are working hard to bring Marshmallow as soon as possible to the OnePlus X, and will update you on a time frame at a later time.”
Currently, OnePlus X is available in India for Rs 16,999 for the Onyx colour variant while OnePlus 2 is available for Rs 24,999 for the 64 GB variant. The 64 GB model of OnePlus One costs Rs 19,999.

The OnePlus 2 has a 5.5 inch display that comes with full high definition resolution, 4 GB RAM, octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, 13 Megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera, fingerprint sensor, two nano SIM card slots, 4GBluetooth 4.1, dual Band WiFi, GPS with GLONASS, digital compass, bottom facing speakers, dual mic for noise cancellation, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

OnePlus One has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a 1080×1920 pixel resolution and boasts Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It comes with 3GB RAM, 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, and Android KitKat operating system. The company however has promised Android 5.0 Lollipop for the phone in future.
Sadly, the One has no expandable storage slot so you have to judiciously use its internal 64 GB memory. The smartphone boasts a 13-megapixel rear camera with six lenses and f/2.0 Aperture with a claimed shutter speed of only 0.3 seconds. It also has a 5-megapixel front camera.
For connectivity, OnePlus One offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC functionality. It features a 3100mAh non-removable battery.
Launched in October this year, OnePlus X offers a 5 inch Active Matrix OLED display with full high definition (1920×1080 pixels) resolution, Snapdragon 801 quad core processor that runs at 2.3 Ghz, 3 GB LP-DDR3 RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, 128 GB micro SD card slot, a 2525 mAh Li-Po battery, WiFi (b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with GLONASS and 4G connectivity.
The smartphone has a 13 megapixel rear camera with F/2.0 aperture and slow motion video recording capability and for selfies it offers an 8 megapixel front camera. Other than that the new OnePlus X offers dual microphone for noise cancellation and FM radio. Both the models (Onyx and Ceramic) of OnePlus X has 5-inch OLED display with full HD resolution and are powered by Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 2525 mAh battery, 13 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front snapper. The limited edition Ceramic colour variant is priced at Rs 22,999 and will be available in India from November 24.
