This is not the first time that a handset brand has tried to leverage the reach of Airtel Store to reach out to the potential customers. Last year, even Xiaomi had tied up with Airtel for using their store as an experience zone for Redmi Note 4G. In fact, they had gone a step further and were also selling the smartphone through the store but for that consumers had to register on Airtel’s micro site. If we talk about the OnePlus’s partnership with Airtel, customers cannot buy the device from the stores they can only experience the device over there.

In order to leverage from this deal and make it sweeter for its subscribers, who have not upgraded to SIM, Airtel plans to give away a few lucky subscribers, who opt for 4G SIM, a chance to win OnePlus 2 invite which they can use to buy the phone from Amazon portal.

In a phased manner, this partnership will also be extended to other cities, apart from Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai, where Airtel is offering 4G services.

Last month, OnePlus had also tied up with Ola cabs to provide their users a free OnePlus 2 experience at their doorstep. As a part of this activity, demo units of OnePlus 2 was made available to Ola cab users in six major cities – Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata. To avail this offer Ola customers had to request a free OnePlus 2 experience at their doorstep through the OLA app, just like they would request a cab, by clicking on the ‘OnePlus 2’ icon on the app. Additionally, a select few customers who requested for the experience stood a chance to win OnePlus 2 invites as well.
