OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 6 to get Oneplus 7 Pro’s Zen Mode, no Nightscape 2.0 incoming

The new Zen Mode will be introduced via a software update on the OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6. The Zen Mode is the company’s own iteration of Google’s Digital Wellbeing initiative.

OnePlus just recently announced the launch of OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 smartphones in India and with this, the company also introduced a new Zen Mode. Now, the OnePlus is reported to roll out the new Zen Mode to the OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6 smartphones pretty soon.

According to a report by Authority, the new Zen Mode will be introduced via a software update on the OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6. The Zen Mode is the company’s own iteration of Google’s Digital Wellbeing initiative. The mode basically makes the device unusable for 20 minutes. The idea behind this feature is that users can spend some quality time in the physical world without getting distracted from the smartphone.

OnePlus says that the Zen Mode cannot be cancelled and it mutes all the notifications for 20 minutes. However, one can make emergency calls or receive incoming calls during this mode and click photos as well. The mode also disables all the apps present in the smartphone and it does not go away even if you restart this device.

The company has also confirmed that the Nightscape 2.0 will not make its way to the OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6. OnePlus says that because the OnePlus 7 Pro is equipped with the newer camera hardware and due to a hardware limitation, the Nightscape 2.0 will remain exclusive to the OnePlus 7 series. There is no information on the expected timeline of the rollout of Zen Mode for the OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6.
