Olive telecom, which was first Indian company to launch a tablet, has launched its latest and India’s first HSPA+ Android smartphone, the Olive Smart V-S300.
The Olive Smart is based on Google’s latest mobile operating system Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). The unique feature about this device is its HSPA+(Evolved High-Speed Packet Access) capability which allows it to achieve speeds of 14.4 Mbps upwards for downloading and uploading speeds of 5 Mbps onwards.
Along with this the use of new technology allows this device to conserve crucial battery power while performing network-intensive data-based tasks. This technology is provided by Qualcomm’s second generation Snapdragon Processor MSM8255 running at an impressive 1GHz. To handle graphics this device has a dedicated processor too the Adreno 205.
Arun Khanna, chairman, Olive Telecom said during the launch, “We are pleased to introduce a breakthrough convergence device which is more than a conventional smartphone and offers cutting EDGE services. This device promises to be a game-changer with its rich looks and advanced features like 3G HSPA+, Android Gingerbread, Adobe Flash (10.1), DLNA, HD video and surround sound.”
Apart from being the fastest in terms of data transfer speeds the V-S300 looks good on the configuration front as well. With a 4.1 inch, WVGA (Wide Video Graphics Array) 800 x 480 Resolution capacitive touchscreen and a sleek design with a brushed metal finish this device looks classy. Other features include a 5 Megapixel camera, up to 32 GB expandable memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 with enhanced data rate.
On the entertainment front too this device has some pretty cool features to impress with high definition video playback support, surround sound output and with its DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) capabilities it can be used to play content on to compatible devices without the use of wires.
For this device the company has got a preferred partnership with Aircel which will be offering lucrative data centric plans for this new device. As of now, Aircel will be offering complimentary mobile connection with every device and the users will get a free data usage of 9 GB spread over 3 months and 1 GB per month respectively for prepaid and postpaid subscribers.
VS300 will be available at Aircel and Olive stores across the country and can bought for Rs 19,999.
