The price of most awaited 41 megapixel camera smartphone from Nokia, the PureView 808, will be unveiled by the company within next 15 days.
“By May end we will launch Nokia PureView 808 in India and announce the price of it simultaneously,” a Nokia spokesperson informed The Mobile Indian.
Earlier, reportedly the Nokia India website quoted the price of Nokia 808 PureView at Rs 29,999 which is a lot lower than the pre-booking price of Rs 40,000 that Nokia had announced in Italy last month.
Clarifying the confusion Spokesperson said, “Nokia has created a product web page on Nokia Shop for consumers to get information about the PureView’s features and specifications and the company has not mentioned any price on the web page. The site clearly says “Coming Soon” at the price holder.”
The spokesperson further said, “The Blogger has gone in the source code of the website and tried interpreting the code and hence the confusion. It is not possible for a normal consumer to read and interpret the source code. On any website the source code has all elements the page will display. If we have to show a certain element now or later we have to put either actual value or dummy value on the page.”
“In this case since we will announce the price at a later stage, there is a section which talks of the price in the source code and the same has a dummy value which will be replaced later. This dummy price is not a reflection of the actual pricing of the product,” added the spokesperson.
The Nokia PureView 808 smartphone features a single-core 1.3 GHz mobile processor with 512 MB RAM. Nokia has added a big 41 megapixel Carl Zeiss image sensor with Xenon flash. Bearing the f/2.8 aperture, the 41 megapixel camera promises 7728×5354 resolution images in 16:9 formats.
With the new PureView Pro imaging technology, the company has managed to use a technique of over-sampling for crystal-clear and noise-less 5 megapixel images. The imaging capability is further aided by the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) which uses a special algorithm which combines seven different pixels in to a one better pixel. The camera also supports up to 4x digital zoom without compromising on the quality. It also allows capturing full 1080p HD videos at 30 frames per second with up to 3x Zoom while for the 720p HD resolution one can go up to 6x zoom.
Nokia 808 will come with Nokia Belle feature pack 1 operating system and will also feature Dolby Mobile Plus for 5.1 channel surround sound playback. Nokia has packed a 1400 mAh battery which promises 11 hours of battery life on EDGE and 6.5 hours of battery life on 3G networks.
