Nokia has updated the Mapping applications – Maps, Transit and Transport with new features and Windows Phone 8 support. The Nokia Maps app has been updated to version 3.0 and is meant for the larger screen bearing Windows Phone 8 devices only. Meanwhile, the Transit and Transport apps are also updated to support the Windows Phone 8 platform.
Nokia has been actively adding its own Mapping software to Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 platform. The new Nokia Maps 3.0 includes full offline maps support, which offers navigation, downloads and even Nokia Drive with walking directions. At the moment Nokia Maps 3.0 is limited only to Windows Phone 8.
Nokia has also updated the Transit app, which now offers a combined segment map and detailed route overview. The graphical icons for bus, train, subway and tram have also been update. Based on specific date and time, one can compare the best routes to be considered. The Transport app gets a tweaked user interface and now supports higher resolution displays.
All three app updates are mostly targeted at new Windows Phone 8 devices such as Lumia 820 and Lumia 920.
