Nokia launches store for mobile payments

Take the example of users required to scan the QR (quick response) codes earlier to buy goods, now with NFC they will just need to take their mobile phone near an NFC enabled device and pay for their goods.

Nokia has come out with an online store where it will make the (Near Field Communication) enabled items such as posters, stickers, tags easily accessible to the businesses.

There is a huge possibility for the use of NFC enabled items by the mobile users but due to lack of initiative, nobody in the small businesses quite knows how to offer these facilities to the end users.

NFC helps two devices, embedded with NFC technology, interact with each other when placed in close distance, so users can actually feel it when they are making a payment.

With the launch of new Nokia online store, the small businesses will at least know where to start. The store has been named NFC Hub, where small businesses will be helped to interact with their customers in a new way through mobiles.

For example, small businesses can put up NFC enabled outlets where their customers can pay for the goods or services by just bringing their mobile phones near to the device deployed &#151 hence no worry for the customers to carry cash.

Right now, NFC is just seen as a luxury, which is reinforced with the arrival with the NFC Hub from Nokia. This is, however, just the beginning as the prices are expected to come down eventually as more players enter the NFC fray.
