Nokia announces two dual SIM phones

Both the handsets promise faster web browsing at 90 per cent lesser cost will have a VGA camera at the back.

Nokia has introduced two new dual-SIM mobile phones in India. According to the Finnish handset manufacturer, both the Nokia 110 and Nokia 112 offer faster mobile web browsing experience and better connectivity to social networks.

Both Nokia 112 and Nokia 112 feature 1.8-inch LCD display and have candy bar form factor. Offering the multi-tap keypad, both the devices will feature Easy Swap technology. That means one can easily switch between the two SIMs without turning off the phone or taking out the battery.

In both the devices, Nokia has added Symbian Series 40 operating system and has used the new Nokia browser that promises faster mobile web browsing. Nokia claims of using a compression technology that basically squeezes down the web page size and pushes mobile friendly version. In a way, the Nokia Browser brings down the data consumption cost by 90 per cent.

Besides web browsing, the phones also let users to connect with social networks – Facebook, Twitter and others. To stay in touch with your friends and contacts, these mobile phones will come with eBuddy IM app pre-loaded. Both devices will feature a VGA camera at the back.

In terms of form factor, the Nokia 110 will have concaved keys while the Nokia 112 will have a colour of the body on the keys. Nokia has added FM Radio in both the devices to let users enjoy the music and of course there would be Nokia Life Tools.

Nokia also promised to offer 40 EA mobile games for free but users will have to pay for the data charges. Nokia plans to ship the Nokia 110 mobile for Euros 35 (Rs 2450 approximately) while the Nokia 112 will be available for Euros 38 (Rs 2625 approximately).

The Nokia 110 is expected to start shipping sometime in second quarter (July-September) while the Nokia 112 is expected to start shipping sometime in third quarter (October-December) this year.

Notably, single SIM varieties of both the handsets will also be made available. While the single SIM version of Nokia 110 will be sold as Nokia 111, the Nokia 112 will come as Nokia 113 with a lone SIM slot.
