HMD Global launchedNokia 8.1 in India for Rs 26,999 with 4GB RAM. Now if the latest report is to be believed, the company will soon launch a new variant of Nokia 8.1 in India with more RAM.
As per areport by Nokiapoweruser, the company will launch a 6GB RAM variant of Nokia 8.1 in India soon. As of now, HMD Global has not confirmed the new higher variant of Nokia 8.1 but the report reveals that the new variant will be launched in India either by the end of this month, or the at the beginning of next month.
The report further reveals that the 6 GB RAM variant of Nokia 8.1 will be priced at Rs 28,999 or Rs 29,999 in India and will reportedly be available for purchase through Nokia’s online store and from physical shops. However unlike 4GB RAM variant which comes with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM variant will come with 128 GB of internal storage.
To recollect the specs of 4GB variant of Nokia 8.1, the smartphone features a glass back and aluminium unibody. It has 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 2.2GHz octa-core processor with Adreno 616 GPU coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It can be expanded up to 400GB via micro SD card slot.
Nokia 8.1 has a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 12-megapixel primary lens with dual-tone LED flash, 1/2.55″ Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 1.4μm pixels, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and 13-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, ZEISS optics. For the front, it has a 20-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. For security, the phone has a fingerprint sensor at the back.
The phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie operating system and is backed up by a 3500mAh battery with fast charging support. On the connectivity front, Nokia 8.1 has dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C and 3.5mm Headphone jack. It measures 154.8 x 75.76 x 7.97 mm and weight 180 grams.
