Nokia 8.1 starts receiving new software update in India

Nokia 8.1 was launched last year at Rs 26,999.

HMD Global has started rolling out new update to the Nokia 8.1. The device has received Google’s latest security patch of September.

NokiaPowerUser reports that update size for Nokia 8.1 is 95.4 in size. Google’s latest September 2019 security update solves a critical security vulnerability in Android. The new update is being pushed as an over-the-air in batches. One can check for the update manually by going to Settings > Software updates.

Nokia 8.1 was launched last year at Rs 26,999. Recently the price was slashed after which, the Nokia 8.1 is now available for a starting price of Rs 15,999. There is another 6GB variant of Nokia 8.1 which can be purchased for Rs 22,999.

The Nokia 8.1 features a 6.18-inch Full display with a screen resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels, 18.7:9 aspect ratio and 500 nits brightness. For the front, it has a 20-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. For the rear, it has a 12-megapixel primary lens with dual-tone flash, 1/2.55″ Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 1.4μm pixels, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and 13-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, ZEISS optics.

The Nokia 8.1 runs on Android 9.0 Pie operating system. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 2.2GHz octa-core with Adreno 616 GPU. The phone has a 3500mAh battery with support. The dimensions are 154.8 x 75.76 x 7.97 mm and weight is 180 grams. Connectivity features are dual VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, 5, + GLONASS, USB Type-C and 3.5mm jack.
