Nokia 808 PureView to face delays in international retail availability

The Nokia PureView 808 smartphone featuring a 41 megapixel camera was expected to be launched in India this month but UK retailers say the device is expected to delay.

Nokia’s PureView 808 smartphone, which is going to be launched in India in a few days is expected to face face delay in retail availbilty in United Kindom.

UK based retailer named Clove Technology has revealed that Nokia 808 will now be available in retail stores towards the end of next month . Although the reasons behind this delay are still unknown, delay in global shipments is now being cited as a reason for that.

Nokia had announced the launch of the 41 camera bearing PureView 808 smartphone during the Mobile World Congress earlier this year. However, the Finnish handset maker did not revealed any concrete timeline for its launch or the pricing details then. India is one of the first few countries to get the smartphone.

The Nokia 808 is the latest Symbian Belle feature pack 1 based smartphone featuring a 41 megapixel Carl Zeiss image sensor with Xenon flash. Bearing the f/2.8 aperture, the 41 megapixel camera promises 7728×5354 resolution images in 16:9 formats.

With the new PureView Pro imaging technology, the company has managed to use a technique of over-sampling for crystal-clear and noise-less 5 megapixel images. The superb imaging capability is further aided by a that uses a special algorithm which combines seven different pixels in to one better pixel. The camera also supports up to 4x without compromising on the quality. It also allows capturing full 1080p videos at 30 frames per second with up to 3x zoom while for the 720p HD resolution, one can go up to 6x zoom.

Nokia 808 will feature a single-core 1.3 GHz mobile with 512 MB RAM. Nokia has packed a 1400 battery which promises 11 hours of battery life on and 6.5 hours of battery life on networks. By default, the smartphone comes with 16 on-board storage and can support up to 32 GB micro card.

In terms of pricing, Nokia has remained silent but the device is expected to price around Rs 32,000.
