Nokia 6 Android Oreo Beta update is just around the corner, confirms HMD

Nokia 8 is also supposed to get Android Oreo update anytime soon as the Beta testing has been completed.

Nokia-branded smartphones including 6, 5 and 3 have already been confirmed to receive latest Android 8.0 Oreo update earlier by the end of this year. Now HMD Global has revealed that the Android Oreo Beta update for Nokia 6 is just around the corner and is coming on your way soon.

The news was confirmed by Juho Sarvikas HMD Global’s Chief Officer. Juho Sarvikas in a reply to a user query revealed that the rollout of the Oreo update to Nokia 6 is “just around the corner”. Now his tweet has confirmed that we can see the update anytime now on the Nokia 6 handsets.

Nokia 8 is also supposed to get Android Oreo update anytime soon as the Beta testing has been completed. Last month, Nokia 6 started receiving Android 7.1.2 Nougat update alongwith Android security patches for October month. Nokia 6 is curently priced at Rs 14,999 and is available on Amazon India for purchase.

Recollecting some key specifications, the Nokia 6 sports a 5.5-inch full with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and 2.5d curved display with 3 protection. The company claims that it has taken 55 minutes to machine a single Nokia 6 from a solid block of 6000 series aluminium and received two separate anodising processes.

Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 along with Adreno 505 GPU. It will come in two variants – 4GB of and 64GB internal storage and 3GB RAM and 32 ROM. There is a fingerprint scanner as well, which is embedded in its home button.

On the camera front, the smartphone flaunts a 16-megapixel camera with PDAF, 1.0um sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone flash. While at the front, we have an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a 1.12um sensor and f/2.0 for selfies and video calling. The Nokia 6 runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by a 3000 non-removable battery.
