Nokia 2.1 receives update with August Android Security Patch

Apart from the latest security patch, the update also improves the overall performance and UI experience of the Nokia 2.1.

Recently HMD Global rolled out August Android security patch update to its Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 3.1 Plus smartphones in India. Now the company has also rolled out an update with August Android Security Patchwith new Android Pie build to Nokia 2.1 in India.

NokiaPowerUser reports, the Android Pie build for Nokia 2.1 is V1.13F and it is 171.4 MB in size. Apart from the latest security patch, the update also improves the overall performance and UI experience of the device.Earlier in February this year, Nokia 2.1 received Android Pie (Go Edition) update.

The new update is being pushed as an over-the-air in batches. One can check for the update manually by going to Settings > Software updates.

To recall, the Nokia 2.1 smartphone was announced by HMD Global in August last year as the successor to the Nokia 2 for a price of Rs 6,999. The Nokia 2.1 features a 5.5-inch IPS display with a screen of 1280 x 720 pixels.

It comes loaded with quad-core Snapdragon 425 along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of ROM. The memory can be expanded up to 128GB via micro SD card slot. The device first came running Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) and is fuelled by a 4000mAh battery. There is an 8-megapixel rear sensor and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Connectivity options include LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, dual-SIM, 3.5mm and port.
