Nexus 4 LTE chip useless: LG

Interestingly many Nexus 4 users in Canada were reported to have used it on LTE networks.

While acknowledging media reports that there is a chip inside the Nexus 4, LG has now clarified that the chip is not functional.

“In order to provide the best possible specification for Nexus 4, LG utilised the same powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon as can be found in its LTE product, namely LG Optimus G. This powerful chipset is only available with a combined processor and and cannot be implemented separately,” the South Korean handset giant explained.

Interestingly, many Nexus 4 users in Canada reportedly have been able to get the LTE chip in the device up and running on the available Canadian LTE networks. So the bottom-line here is that the Nexus 4 has got the LTE chip as a part of the hardware and it is fully functional.

The Nexus 4 smartphone has a quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 APQ8064 Krait mobile processor. The Nexus 4 offers new Adreno 320 graphics chip and 2 RAM to provider great muscle for running the most modern 3D graphics bearing game on 4.2 Jelly Bean update. It has an 8 camera too.

LG is expected to introduce the Nexus 4 in India next month itself itself following which users hers will also get a chance to lay their hands on the new device and probably figure out a few tricks of their own to get the LTE chip up and running.
