Moto Z2 Play starts receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update in India

The Moto Z2 Play was launched in India last year with Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.

Motorola has now started rolling out the 8.0 Oreo update for Moto Z2 Play in India. The Moto Z2 Play was launched in India last year with Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.

Techdroider reports, the Android 8.0 Oreo update comes with the newer versionOPS27.76-12-25 and it weighs around 1GB.The update also brings Android security update for April 1, 2018.

The company advises you to update when the battery in your phone is at least 50% charged and you are connected to a Wi-Fi network. Since the update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it comes to your device. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.

After the update, the smartphone will have all the goodies of Android Oreo. Users will get picture-in-picture mode that lets users to two tasks simultaneously. So, for example, one can minimize a YouTube video while sending a text message or writing an email. Android Oreo has other features like including Background limits, installation of apps via APK, over 60 new emojis, notification dots, Wide-gamut colour for apps, Snoozing individual notification, Adaptive icons, Keyboard navigation, WebView enhancements and much more.

To recall, Moto Z2 Play features a 5.5-inch Full HD Super with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels coupled with 3 protection and a of 401 ppi. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 clocked at 2.2GHz. It comes in two and storage variants: one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, while the other one sports a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The storage can be further expanded up to 2TB via micro card slot.

On the camera front, the device features a 12-megapixel rear camera with 1.4-micron pixels, f/1.7 aperture, dual LED flash and laser and dual lens. For the front, there is a 5-megapixel shooter with f/2.2 aperture, wide-angle lens and a front flash. The device now runs on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo and is juiced up by a 3000mAh battery along with TurboPower charger. On the connectivity front, it include LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/g/b/n, 4.2, USB Type-C, jack, NFC, FM radio, and GPS/ A-GPS.
