Moto Z and Moto Z Play to go on sale today in India

Both the smartphones will be available for purchase after 11:59PM. Moto Z and Moto Z Play will be available on Amazon and Flipkart at Rs 39,999 and Rs 24,999 respectively.

Lenovo owned Motorola recently announced the launch of its two new smartphones – Moto Z and Moto Z Play – in India and both these smartphones will be available for purchase from 11:59PM today. Moto Z and Moto Z Play will be available on Amazon and Flipkart as of now at Rs 39,999 and Rs 24,999 respectively.

Moto Z comes with a military aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel design. This device is only 5.2 mm thick and sports a 5.5 inch AMOLED screen that has Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution. It is powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor and 4 GB RAM. Further, it come with 2600 battery which Motorola claims to offer upto 24 hours of battery back up on mixed usage and it also has Turbo charging facility on top of this. In the camera department, Moto Z features a 13 megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization, laser auto focus, 8x digital zoom,4K video recording ability, slow motion video recording feature, professional mode and dual-tone flash. At its front, there is a 5 megapixel camera with wide angle lens, f/2.2 aperture, professional and beauty modes and an LED flash for low-light selfies. The device comes in 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage versions but in the Motorola India page only the 64 GB model is mentioned. Nevertheless, both the variants come with expandable storage with expansion of up to 2TB via microSD card. Moto Z also comes with water repelling nano coating.

On the other hand, Moto Z Play comes with a 5.5 inch full HD display. Underneath the hood, it offers a 2.0 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, coupled with 3GB RAM of memory (LPDDR3 RAM). It has a 16MP laser camera with f2.0 aperture, 1.3 um pixel size, 4x digital zoom, burst mode, auto HDR, video recording ability, slow motion video recording feature, and professional mode. Further, it comes with a 5 megapixel front camera with f2.2 aperture, 85 degree wide angle lens, flash light, professional mode, beauty mode and auto night mode.The Moto Z Play has 32 GB of internal storage as well as an expandable storage slot for up to a 2 TB micro SD card. This 6.99 mm thin smartphone has water repelling coating on its body. For connectivity, it comes with dual SIM capability and has Bluetooth 4.0 LE, WiFi (a/b/g/n), NFC, AGPS etc. It runs on 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, and also has a fingerprint scanner. It comes with Moto Mod connectors, Type C port, 3.5 mm port, 3 mics, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity, and audio monitor. On top of all this, it comes with 3510 mAh battery which surely will last more than a day for any user.

Motorola will release some of the Moto Mods as well. If you are not aware, Moto Mods are external mods which can be connected to both Moto Z and Moto Z Play via 16 dot connector given at the back of these devices. If bought separately, the Moto Insta-Share Projector and Hasselblad True Zoom will cost Rs 19,999 each. Whereas, the JBL Soundboost is priced at Rs 6,999 and the Incipio offGRID Power pack will sell at Rs 5,999. The Wood and Ballistic Nylong Motorola Style Shell will sell at Rs 1,099 and the Leather one will cost you Rs 1,599.

For these devices, Wood and Ballistic Nylong Motorola-Style Shell are offered at Rs 899 and a Leather variant is available for Rs 1,299. Further, the Moto Insta-Share Projector and Hasselblad True Zoom will be sold at Rs 14,999 each. Whereas, the Incipio offGRID Power Pack and JBL Soundboost will sell at Rs 4,999 and Rs 5,999 respectively.
