Motorola announced the Moto E5 series, including the Moto E5 Play smartphone recently. Now the company has announced an Android Go smartphone of Moto E5 Play named as Moto E5 Play Android Oreo (Go Edition).
The Moto E5 Play Android Oreo (Go Edition) has currently been announced for different countries in Europe and Latin America and will be available starting this month. The Android Go edition smartphone is priced at EUR 109 (approx. Rs 8,700). However, the India availability of Moto E5 Play Android Oreo (Go edition) is not known at the moment.
The new Moto E5 Play offers a 5.34-inch FWVGA+ display with 480×854 pixels resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Snapdragon 425 processor which is coupled with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage, expandable memory up to 128GB with microSD. It also features a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device, which is embedded into the Motorola logo.
There is a 2100 mAh battery is in the phone, and it will be running Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) out of the box. The Go edition was first announced at Google I/O 2017 and it meant for low-end devices that run with 512MB to 1GB of memory. The aim is to provide the latest Android updates to the masses and it will be available as a part of Android 8.1 release. While the Google Play would suggest users to go with third party light apps, the phone comes preloaded with Google Assistant Go, Google Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go and Youtube Go, all of which are designed by Google.
Other than that the E5 Play offers 8 MP camera and a 5 MP front camera, both of which are accompanied by flash. The phone has a water-repellent coating and has 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, a micro USB port and a 3.5 mm jack.
Recently, Motorola launched its two latest budget-centric smartphones, the Moto E5 Plus and Moto E5 in India. The Moto E5 Plus is priced at Rs 11,999 while Moto E5 will cost you Rs 9,999. The Moto E5 Plus comes inFine Gold and Black and Moto E5 comes in Flash Gray and Fine Gold colour variants.
