Micromax today announced a new Canvas Unite Series smartphone which is named as Micromax Unite 4 Plus. The newly launched smartphone comes with the upgraded Indus OS 2.0 that supports 12 regional languages.
Priced at Rs 7,999, the Canvas Unite 4 Plus has fingerprint sensor, all metal body, 5 inch HD IPS display and 4G connectivity. The phone also offers an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera. There is a 2500 mAh battery inside this phone.
The Unite 4 Plus smartphone also comes with 2GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB internal memory. The device is powered by a 1.1 GHz quad core processor.
The phone has Indus Keyboard which is a hybrid keyboard feature, allowing users to type in a mix of English and regional languages using the Hybrid Keyboard. It also has patented word predictions, matra predictions and auto-correction features offering a user-friendly smartphone experience. The OS is also equipped with an inbuilt runtime transliteration feature that runs even without any internet connectivity. Indus Reader, the Text-to-Speech feature, allows users to translate English text into audio in any of the offered six Indian languages; Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali and Telugu. This function works on text on browser, WhatsApp and SMS, empowering people to talk, type, and text in their own native language.
Another translation feature offered in Unite smartphones through the Indus OS is the Indus Swipe feature. It allows users to swipe right to translate from English to regional languages and vice versa and also to swipe left to transliterate.
