Micromax launches its first smartphone with 3GB RAM, Canvas 5, at Rs 11,999

The Micromax Canvas 5 comes with 4G/LTE support.

Micromax today announced the launch of its next Canvas flagship smartphone, the Micromax Canvas 5, for just Rs 11,999. The smartphone comes in two color variants – black and golden. The Micromax Canvas 5 will be available online as well as offline stores from today itself (November 4).

Micromax Canvas 5 features a 5.2-inch Full-HD display with 3 protection. It is powered by 1.3 GHz Mediatek 6753 octa-core processor and 3GB DDR3 RAM. Note that it is the first Micromax smartphone to offer 3 GB RAM. The Canvas 5 is based on 5.1 Lollipop operating system and comes packed with a 2900 mAh non-removable battery.

It has 16GB of internal storage, which is further expandable by up-to 64GB via a microSD card. It also has OTG functionality. The smartphone flaunts a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with phase detection auto focus technology promising focus in just 0.2 seconds. There are two flash lights in the back panel too. The rear camera also comes with 5P lens and can capture panaroma shots in 4X zoom.

The Micromax Canvas 5 has a 5-megapixel front camera for which there is an LED flash light too.

This smartphone has two card slots one of which offers connectivity while the other is compatible with 2G networks. Besides, it has WiFi, port and Bluetooth.
