Micromax today launched another lucrative handset to consolidate its position in the affordable segment where it is facing a very tough competition from the likes of Xiaomi, Asus, Motorola and other Indian handset makers. The new smartphone, named as Micromax Canvas Spark, has a price tag of just Rs 4,999 and it comes with the latest Android Lollipop operating system, thus becoming the cheapest Android Lollipop phone in the market today. Xolo One, which had the tag till now, is currently retailing for around Rs 6,000.
The Micromax Canvas Spark though will be exclusively available on Snapdeal and that too via flash sales only. Registration for participation in the flash sale will start from tomorrow (April 22) at 12:00 pm on Snapdeal’s website and the flash sale will begin a week later, on April 29.
The Micromax Canvas Spark looks great on paper with a 4.7-inch IPS display with high definition resolution and the tough Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The handset has 1GB RAM, a 2000 mAh battery, 8 GB inbuilt memory, expandable memory of up to 32 GB, and a 1.3 GHz quad core processor.
For shutter-bugs, the Micromax Canvas Spark offers an 8 megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash light and a 2 megapixel fixed focus front camera. This dual SIM (micro) smartphone has GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 as well.
