Pierre Cardin, a well known luxury brand associated mostly with pens and apparels, has entered in to the tablet market with a 7 inch Android powered tablet, the Pierre Cardin PC-7006 tablet. Regarded as UK’s first ever designer tablet, the Pierre Cardin PC-7006 comes with a classy leather portfolio which protects the tablet as well as adds a touch of class and sophistication to the device.
The PC-7006 has a capacitive touchscreen and a Resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The tablet runs on a Samsung S5PV210 Cortex-A8 single core Processor running at 1 GHz and to compliment that it features 512 MB of RAM. The device comes with a rather smaller 4 GB of internal storage but it can be extended up to 16 GB through its SD card slot. The device is a WiFi version but can be used on 3G networks through an additional 3G USB modem.
Even when Honeycomb has reached to almost all tablets around the globe, this device still runs on the older non tablet operating system, the Android 2.2 Froyo. However, this device supports flash 10.1.
Considering the brand tag it holds, the company has priced this device at a rather reasonable price tag of 275 GBP or Rs 20,000 (approx).
The device is presently available for order to the residents of UK only that too exclusively on the company’s online store. But it is expected that Pierre Cardin will soon be making this device available to the other countries catering to the brand fans around the globe.
