LG G7 ThinQ confirmed to feature 6.1-inch QHD+ ‘Super Bright Display’

The LG G7 ThinQ comes loaded with an impressive 1000 nits brightness, making it a first smartphone to boast such kind of brightness.

LG is all set to launch its latest flagship device, the LG G7 ThinQ, on May 02. The company already confirmed that the upcoming smartphone will feature AI features and now, it has revealed some key information about the phone’s display.

The brand has confirmed that the smartphone will feature a 6.1-inch Quad display with a screen of 3120 x 1440 pixels. The company’s calls the display used on its latest smartphone as Super Bright Display. This is primarily because it will come loaded with an impressive 1000 nits brightness, making it a first smartphone to boast such kind of brightness. This also means that users will be able to see the screen clearly even in bright sunlight.

Further, the smartphone offers 100 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage, meaning that the device will offer rich colours. Moving on, the new display is based on and the company claims that it is 30 percent more power efficient as compared to its predecessor, the LG G6.

The company has also confirmed that the upcoming smartphone will feature an iPhone X-like notch on the top. The company has also introduced ‘New Second Screen’ that can be used as a status bar or a single screen combined with the main screen. Users will have an option to hide the notch, similar to what Huawei is offering with P20 and P20 Pro.

The LG G7 ThinQ will come with different display modes such as Echo, Cinema, Sports, Game and Professional. The Echo mode maximises battery efficiency while the cinema mode set the colour temperature to the international broadcasting standard. The sports mode will show the optimise the primary colour to express the grass of the stadium, the company said. There will be an Expert mode as well that will allow users to adjust the colours of R (Red), G (Green) and B (Blue) as well colour temperature, saturation, hue and sharpness.
