Lenovo rolls out Jio sim update for its K series smartphones

Lenovo rolled out a software update for Vibe K5 Note in October this year.

Lenovo has started rolling out the VoLTE update for some of its K series smartphones which include Lenovo K4 Note, Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus and Lenovo Vibe K5 smartphones. The update is available over the air and will allow K series customers to use Jio SIM is their devices which weren’t possible earlier.

Earlier, a lot of Lenovo smartphone users were complaining about the of 4G VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) support in their devices but this move is going to make them happy as they will be able to avail free voice and data service offered by Jio until March 31, 2017.

Since the update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it comes to your device. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.

To recall, the Lenovo K4 Note comes with two 4G enabled SIM slots. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The smartphone has a 5.5 inch full HD display, thus offering 401 ppi pixel density. The display is protected by 3. Besides, it has 3GB RAM, 64 bit MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor and expandable memory of up to 144GB. The phone comes with USB OTG functionality as well as a fingerprint scanner. Lenovo K4 Note weighs 158 grams with a huge 3300 battery.

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus was launched in March this year. It features a 5-inch IPS full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display and is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, which is paired with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. The smartphone runs on 5.1 Lollipop operating system and has a 2750 mAh battery.

The Vibe K5 Plus sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with a LED flash, a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor, 16GB of internal storage, 32GB expandable storage slot, Dual-SIM, 4G LTE, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), 4.1, and a port. The handset measures 142x71x8.2mm and weighs 142 grams. The smartphone comes with Dolby Atmos technology with two speakers on the rear panel.

The Lenovo Vibe k5 was launched in June this year. It comes with a 64-Bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 octa-core and a 5-inch high-definition display. The 64-bit Qualcomm octa-core processor of Vibe K5 has the backing of 2GB of DDR3 RAM. The phone is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

Besides, it has Adreno 405 GPU, 16GB of internal storage, and a 32GB micro card slot. The Lenovo Vibe K5 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and is backed up by a 2750 mAh battery. The connectivity options for the device includes Dual-SIM, 4G LTE, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and a micro USB port.
