With Samsung Galaxy S8 finally out, the focus now shifts to other upcoming flagships for this year. And you wouldn’t deny that probably the most rumoured device of the entire year is the next iPhone. This year being the 10th Anniversary of iPhone, Apple is planning something really interesting. After a plethora of rumours, a famous tipster named ‘Benjamin Geskin’ has now leaked a bunch of images which does shy off quite a bit of previous rumours.
The images show a glass back along with a vertical dual-camera setup. The volume rockers along with the quick silent toggle are on the left while the power button is on the right. The device seems to have a metal frame running through the sides with a glossy polish on it. Interestingly, there is no Home Button on the front as well as on the back, which is opposite to whatrecent rumours had to say. Also, the power button on the right looks to be a little too elongated which is where the possibility of Apple putting a fingerprint scanner there might arise. Otherwise, it will be really fascinating if Apple manages to put it on the display.
We cannot comment on the front bezels, as the display is switched off but given there is no Home Button on the front, we expect it to be fairly bezel-less. Also, at the front, it appears to be a 2.5D curved glass over the display which also contradicts the rumours of the upcoming iPhone sporting a curved OLED display. On the other hand, the device does look to be similar to the original iPhone from 2007, in terms of the design.
Recollecting some previous rumours, Apple is said to launch three new iPhones this year. The 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone (probably iPhone 7s and 7s Plus) devices will be up much before, probably in September. Further, as per Brian White (analyst), the 5.8-inch iPhone 8 will be available for pre-orders along with the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone devices, however, the availability of the 5.8-inch variant is likely to happen sometime in October-November.
Further, the US-based multinational is said to be working on a 3D front facing the camera to boost up Augmented Reality in future iPhones. Apple is also expected to bring wireless charging to the iPhone platform as well.
