Lava Iris Pro 30+ launched at Rs 11,990, offers 16 GB ROM, 13 MP rear camera

Like the older Pro 30, it has beautiful design and comes with a better rear camera, storage facility but has the older Android Jelly Bean operating system.

Indian handset manufacturer, Lava has announced the launch of Iris Pro 30+ smartphone. The handset is priced at RS 11,990 and will be available for purchase from Amazon India’s (e-store) and physical stores from this August 26. The phone will be sold along with a 16 micro SD card as well. Ironically, its predecessor, the Iris Pro 30 is still available for a higher price, above Rs 12,000.

The Lava Iris Pro 30+ is beautifully designed with thick mettalic ring along its sides as its predecessor, the Iris Pro 30 which we reviewed some time back. It is just 7.9 mm thick and weighs just 116 grams. Like the older handset, the new Pro 30+ too comes with a 4.7 inch IPS HD display. Sadly, the new phone runs on the older 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system as its predecessor and not the Android 4.4 version.

The Pro 30+ has a 1.5 GHz quad core processor as compared to the 1.2 GHz quad core processor of Pro 30 – a minor upgrade which may not significantly change the output. The significant change comes in the memory department – the Pro 30+ has 16 GB ROM as compared to the 4 GB of Pro 30. However, the new phone has 1 GB RAM and 32 GB micro SD card slot as its sibling.

The Lava Iris Pro 30+ has a 13 rear camera with BSI sensor with 1.12 μm Pixel Size – a welcome upgrade from 8 megapixel unit of Pro 30. However, like the older phone, the new handset too has a 3 megapixel front camera.

There is a 2000 battery in the Lava Iris Pro 30+ which claims to offer 8 hours of talktime. Besides, this dual SIM handset offers 3G connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS with support, a port for charging and file transfer, and a 3.5 mm jack audio port.
