Just Released: Lava Iris 500 @ Rs 5,499, offers Android KitKat

The Lava Iris 500 is yet another forgettable handset as it does not provide any thing better than current market leaders in the sub 6,000 price segment.

Indian handset manufacturer, Lava has released another budget smartphone called Iris 500. The handset has just been listed on Lava’s official website for Rs 5,499.

The specification sheet though does not have much to attract users. It has a 5 inch IPS display with 854×480 pixels while few of its competitors offer high definition resolution. The phone though is based on Kitkat operating system but it has a 1.3 GHz dual core processor and 512 while many others have quad core processor and 1 GB RAM. Thankfully, it has the Android KitKat operating system.

In terms of camera quality, the Iris 500 does not enthuse either as it has a 5 fixed focus rear camera and a VGA front camera. It has an 1800 battery; strangely, the official page claims only 4.5 hours of standby with single (I guess it is a typo and probably them meant talktime of 4.5 hours but it is still on the lower side for any phone).

This dual SIM handset offers connectivity, 4 GB internal storage, and 32 GB micro SD card slot. Besides, the Lava Iris 500 offers WiFi, USB 2.0, and 4.0.
