The upcoming version of the Apple iPod Touch may feature 3G cellular network connectivity along with the WiFi option that prevails as of now, according to a Vietnamese website.
The website, tinh te`, purportedly saw pictures of the device posted on the iTunes network’s website. Though, the page was allegedly removed by Apple after that, the Vietnamese website managed to get a screenshot of that webpage.
With 3G, iPod will definitely get the much needed mobility while staying connected to the data network and can efficiently use Apple’s cloud music service as well.
The discovery further gains ground considering that few developers have found out that the new OS 5 for Apple iPod devices in specific includes two additional features that are mobile network connectivity over 3G and Location services (GPS).
There is, however, no official confirmation from Apple so far on the same. As the launch of the iPhone 5 slated towards the end of this year, it is highly expected that Apple will release some information about the upcoming product, or if we are really lucky me might also see the device itself in action in 3G.
